This year has been so hectic. I am just getting around to starting my first official post on my blog, and I would like to introduce my classroom. This year I am implementing the Daily 5 in my ESL classroom. Over the summer I did everything I could to make sure the classroom is a friendly, comfortable, and literacy centered environment. That meant scouring everywhere I could for books, seating, and resources.
Here is a peep into the classroom library. It is still a work in progress, but the kids love sitting in the chairs while they are reading.
The next essential part of our classroom is the gathering area. I allow the kids to bring the classroom pillows to the area to sit on.
Next is our small group area. I was so excited because I got an amazing deal on this kidney table at Office Depot. Trying to get one at school is like searching for gold so I broke down and bought one. Excuse my crooked blinds in the back:)
Next is the writing center. The students LOVE sitting in the corner writing. I am so happy that this station is running so smoothly.
Then we have our CAFE board. I have a CAFE manager who puts the strategy under the correct acronym once we have introduced the strategy.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peep into our ESL classroom:)
